Valentine's Day and 1800-Flowers

Valentine’s Day, which traces its roots back to the Roman Empire, is now symbolized by candy hearts, chocolates, and flowers. While some of traditions have changed since Valentine’s Day’s beginnings in the third century AD, one tradition remains; the giving of roses.

In fact, the tradition of red roses on Valentine’s Day is thought to have originated from the flowers being the favorite of Venus, the Roman goddess of love. In that light, it’s hard to go wrong with an arrangement of red roses from 1800-Flowers.
